'Rex has been garaged for the winter, only being run up every 2 or 3 weeks. A couple of weeks back when I started her it was a bit of a struggle to get her to fire and then she would run on only one pot (the LH one). Figured it was an oiled plug on the RH pot
Cleaned that plug and she started straight away and ran perfectly. After a 5 mile ride tick-over was smooth and steady at 1100 rpm. Problem solved
Today I start her up after a struggle and this time she runs on one pot again (this time the RH one) and I have to replace the LH plug. Again all is perfect after a 40 mile trouble-free ride.
Was it a coincidence ?? Was I just unlucky ?? Or is this the early sign of a potential problem with emulsion tubes.
BTW 'Rex has done 30k miles.
Opinions welcome.

Cold and damp getting to your plugs I reckon. New plugs will cure it.

Only coz mine does the same if it's left for a little while.
My old Guzzi was temperamental about starting - I used an old thick blanket to tuck it in at night and all was good

been doing that this winter with the TRX and haven't had much of a problem.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully the 'problem' will go away now she's had a decent run out on a dry day.
The only reason I thought it might be something other than the usual is that the garage is more like a living room (fitted carpets / TV / stereo / double-glazed) so not cold and damp, and the plugs were replaced about 500 miles ago. That and the fact that it has happened on two consecutive weekends.

Mine started doing that, hard to start when cold, I had the valves checked, and adjusted, no more problems. Altho I also had the carbs checked as well, but they did say the carbs were fairly well adjusted. (unlike some people I know

)

Mostly family (mine) and every XPT passenger I have ever encountered.
XPT is a train that I get the priviledge to carry passengers for, (for the benifit of all you outside of Aussie) Just about all the people we carry are bloody feral.
