Jetting- Standfard Carbs, K +N, pipes?
Hi folks
Just wondering if bigger main jets are needed when switching to a K+N filter? My pipes are free flowing Leo Vince SBKs and carbs are standard CVs. I've read that the jetting is overly rich on stock pipes so should be fine with the pipes but not sure about adding the K+N? Given that it's such a pain getting to the plugs, I'd rather not have to start doing plug chops...Anyone got experience of using a K+N, free-flowing pipes and stock carbs/jetting? Don't want to be running too lean but if it's way rich as standard mabe I'll be OK?! (Also: this has got to be one of the coolest running engines I've seen- Reckon it hardly needs the water cooling here in Blighty!) Thanks in advance.

Cheers. Braking and handling are nothing short of scary by TRX standards but I love it. Like the TRX it was only made for a few years so you won't see many about and with a few mods they just about stop and go round corners!

Mine was still running rich with open pipes and a hacked about airbox on standard jetting
FCRs cured that though

K+N it is then! I know it sounds lazy but I'd rather not have to start swapping jets right now- having too much fun scooting about on the bike now the roads are drying out! (Holed a piston years ago thru running too lean so thought I'd better ask.) As to FCRs- for the moment I'll just have to gaze longingly at pics on the web and hope my numbers come up in the lotto!! (ditto for an Ohlins shock)
Cheers for the info!

IME, a set of end cans and a free flowing filter require no jetting changes

Cheers for the info. Moving house this summer so most of my spare times spent DIYing now but hopefully be able to escape up north for a few days late summer.
