The VFR swingarm is reported to be heavier than a (any) stock dual swingarm,some claim 2 times, some claim only 12%, most of the VFR guys are comparing them against CBR swingarms, not sure which years though, obviously that would vary. It'd have to much heavier than a stock TRX swingarm though.
but didn't seem that much heavier to throw bout, ELF racing patents ...which made honda pay for each unit produced,..about 3mm thick alloy and obviously very hollow through out....but the trx rear swing will be the winner no doubt, also a weight gain would be the 180 hoop as well over the OEM Rex 160 surely...don't notice it mind....I just sit back to the bum stop and ride the big 180 metzeler m5 and let the front do its thing....big grinsAprilia end cans are made of titanium and weigh extremely little, ..cheap second hand as they come in pairs..other side is damaged, so the remaining is good for a Rex two into one...race versions are usually 63 mm inlet too....my end can weighs as little as a 1.8 kilos with the titanium steel wool and are straight through breathers.
