Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
looks like i am going to be straight in at the deep end, I've had my arm twisted to shake the bike down at the evening track session at teesside autodrome tomorrow night. So much for getting some road miles in first!

don't worry about that Al, unless something falls off and the bike spits me off theres no chance of me crashing - I will be riding like a complete ponce!

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
first outing on the bike - a complete success!
Initial Impressions:
The bike behaved faultlessly, the fuel injected engine was absolutely perfect, pulling really strongly from somewhere around 3000rpm right up to somewhere around 10,000rpm where I was bouncing of the rev limiter on numerous occasions. Gearbox was really slick and positive which was good as I found i was using it a lot more than I would on my fazer.
only miss hap I had was forgetting to bolt the plastic chain guard on that goes between the swingarm and the chain. Very Happy!
riding impressions - this was the first time I have actually ridden a TRX, and to be honest a sports bike, but I found the trx a very easy bike to ride from the off. the power is very easily accessable coming out the corners.
Brakes were brilliant.
The engine needed a blip on the downside to stop it skipping the rear end.
I need to learn how to get the best out of the bike, my gear selection was at time rubbish, I am too late getting on the throttle out the corners and I tend to have a period of coasting inbetween getting off the throttle and applying the brakes lol
All in all a fantastic first outing, cant wait for many more. got some pics but they are all blurry.

Once you get the hang of it its a very rewarding bike to ride. I have given up trying to explain to mates why I a, so fond of the TRX because you cant get to know it on the first ride, you need it for a few days before you start to appreciate its strenghtscoxylaad wrote: riding impressions - this was the first time I have actually ridden a TRX, and to be honest a sports bike, but I found the trx a very easy bike to ride from the off. the power is very easily accessable coming out the corners.

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
Good to hear coxxy - the 900 is a really good engine - a bit wooly in standard form but with better breathing and pipes plus a Power Commander - it is a good strong motor.....................and negligible oil burning. Well done bhoyo

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
question - under the yokes you have 2 nuts that lock together with a rubber washer in between.
Can someone tell what thickness those nuts are, as I have two thin ones and a thick one and I dont know which is correct.
are they both the same thickness?
