Fettlers block ?

Post by Yoozy » Fri Jul 26, 2013 10:54 pm

Is there such a thing ? I think I've got it. I'm coming to the end of the Trille build and I'm getting over excited about firing her up and neglecting other jobs. I'm tempted to nail everything on quick, throw the tank on and prod the starter [which is hanging by the caliper] and pray, but I should be doing other things like putting coolant in
I knew this would happen, I get giddy and rush things like a big babby.
WTF does one do ?
Have a cigarillo ? Don't smoke.
Have beer ? Been doing that.
Leave it for a few days ?

Everytime I open the lab door I don't see a bike in bits I just hear the rumble, I'm dying to fire her up but she's not ready [-X

Emotional semi drunk ramblings :krusty:

Make a list of what needs doing and tick them off one by one? Only when everything is ticked can you reward yourself with the rumbling.. And hopefully it's not the mains #-o

Don't mention cheese, I love the stuff and put it on pretty much everything. But, seeing as I'm a fat fud getting fatter daily its had to go, not had any for 3 weeks now :( So a list it is -

Fettler's Block ?
Of course there is such a thing , and every mechanic fit to use the name has one.
It's a chunk of metal or a random off-cut of wood used to put things on while you do things to it.
(A bit like a blacksmith's anvil ... but smaller and different)
You can buy them on e-bay , but I haven't seen one advertised.
I can sell you a drawing of one so you can make your own ... all you need to make one is the materials and a fettler's block.
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.
