has anyone cut down renegade grand prix cans?
Im looking to cut down my carbon fibre cans as they aint loud enough and cant afford to buy more exhausts.
Is it fairly simply? My cans are riveted both ends.

Pretty easy usually, on most you need to take both bands off but on my last set [titianium hexagonal Akras] I only needed to take off the inlet end band. Whatever length you take off the sleeve you saw off the perf. Usually all cans perf is fixed at the inlet and loose at the outlet so the cap just slides on tightly on it. Some are the same diameter perf all the way, some are flared at the end a tad and some have a solid unperforated piece on the end. So watch to see if the end is flared because you'll need to replicate it. Always put new packing in while your at it. I usually give it 3 wraps of packing and wrap that with cling film so its easy to get in the sleeve. You don't want to much packing in as it expands and the cling film will just burn off. Make sure you've got a clean sheet to work on and when you've drilled the rivits out clean up regularly to avoid scratching. Also when your drilling the rivits out use a bigger drill than the rivits, like if the rivits look 5mm use a 10mm bit and watch carefully so when you take the rivit head off you don't hit the sleeve. Give the caps a squirt of easit oil so they are easier to wiggle off to. If I'd seen this yesterday I could have took some pictures but theirs loads out there really

Thanks for the reply and well explained. Do i need to use stainless rivets or just good quality rivets? Im loojing forward to giving this ago the only thing i like at the moment is the exhaust's sit next to the number plate which im going to lose that look.

Yep, it's pretty simple like Nob said.
I cut my Omraes down & I'm happy with the result, only caveat was with the perforated tube in the middle, mine had flares at both ends, so I cut one end off, cut out the right length & welded it back together.
Dremel or angle grinder with a 1mm cutting blade will give you a nice clean cut, just tape the carbon so you don't get chips/splinters & use the vacuum while you're cutting!
