I've decided to get my shit sorted and get an Australian bike to transfer all my OVER kit onto, and will be fitting an 878 kit. At the moment I've narrowed it down to two bikes - one has 19,000km ($3k), the other closer to 85,000km ($2k). My question is this - as I'm stripping the engine down for the big bore kit does it really matter which bike I start with? Is it much more expensive to replace the crank bearings and big/little ends on the rods to effectively zero-time the engine? Other than that I can only think of the gearbox as being a potential weak point. Is there anything I'm missing?
Which bike would you go with?
Starting point for an 878 - does mileage matter?

Either one your buying and relying on the good fortune that the bike has been serviced (if pulling the motor apart that far why not rebuild the bottom end ...peace of mind on either after spending so much for all the pther work )and if you buy the cheaper one it gives you to opportunity to spend an extra $1000 on maybe fitting a 6 speed box or extra head work.

Got a completely different bike for $2200 with 28k on the clock - best of both worlds!
