Easy to adjust the chain tension, just loosen the 17mm nut and move the locking ring just inside the sprocket there.
Cant see any cush rubbers.

Just curious. Is the ride height the same, or is the single side sitting a bit higher? Also I have always been lead to believe that a SSSA set up is heavier than the standard set up, the only advantage being wheel removal.

Yes..very happy with the rail,fitted nicely too con rod.
A weight dissadvantage i would direct, the vfr 800 swing is hollow but would have a third more alloy and then the big hub bearing....but then, its -ELF--F1 technology and Honda itself.
Interesting that Triumphs,Ducatis and even the new ktm rc8 1290 has gone the sssa as well,..mostly wheel removal--correct Stank...and braging rights Troy..
But i think i have stumbled to why our budget blasters dont have them..the COST.
Needing a paddock stand, ive searched e-bay and found the parts that would be needed to fit one up..
Rear swing arm with--- hub,bearing,disc,and caliper.....600
wheel and tyre..5.5/180...............................................400
chain and sprockets...........................................250
exhaust,2 into one-left side.................................300
engineering to the dogbone link..quoted..................400

Obviously a written off vfr would be the only option for parts.
Id sell the swing off , but i wouldnt like to have someones ARM or LEG hanging in my garage..

30mm longer wheelbase would certainly slow the steering down a lot as well

VFR800? Yes possibly. I think the VFR750 wheel was different but I`m not certain. It`s definately not Hornet though, they were not fitted with single siders as far as I`m aware. Personally I like it`s look but not the inevitable weight gain from using it.

Makes me to wonder who really did this vfr 800 fit up, or maybe it was done for a yzf 750 somewhere...engineering is a very high standard...bought it from Caboolture Rexxie..any info ?
Decided to have my black rex for the mods and revert the blue rex back to the OEM as it deserves, so its off with the SSSA and useing the black rex.s stock parts on the wall, have a very tidy stock bike.
I was happy to notice the SSSA has a good 530 chain fitted with 17--42 gearing..should be interesting as i am used to the standard set of 17--39.
Some photos of the fit-up should someone contemplate going out on a limb in the future.

That does look BEAUTIFUL!! Any spacers that have been machined up to make it fit nicely within the cast H-Frame? Do you use the TRX axle or a modified VFR one? So many questions....would love to check it out in person... I will have to join a ride with you guys one day as my schedule slows down.

Hi Schmiffee, a really easy thing to fit..and i have used my new 180 metzler m5 as the rim is a 5.5incher and will run well with the yzf 120/70 series front.
I wont worry over the Akra bumping on the yzf rear upper anymore either.
The vfr 800 swing uses an inter pivot bearing spacer that can be removed to allow the swing to be removed without having to disturb the shock-[ a nice thought ],...while the pivot bearing axle seems the same as the trx,. as it fitted into my H frame without argument.

With the wife off to her friends house and the lad having a nap, grabbed the wheel off and wet rubbed the mirriad of small scratches back with 800 wet,, undercoated lightly and then added some red base,..as the base dries quickly, i then masked the red out and painted the black base..then removed the red cover masking and laid down a spare TRX decal in white....by the time the boy awakened, i had the clear over the whole lot and shining nicely...we all then had a barbie.
Tomorrow is another day.

Couldn't agree more. The sssa looks uber trick on the black bike. I like the 5 spoke rear wheel. Makes me wonder if the matching VFR front wheel or a 5 spoke from another model would fit.

Also, just watched that KTM clip again. Go on Yamaha build an new TRX or at least something sporty and angry with the XTZ super Tenere engine. You know you want to.
