Hi all, had just finished tinkering with the rex - fitting single seat cowl to R1 seat, new big bore exhaust all fitted - and decided to go for a ride.
Riding up the road, when I heard the the sounds off Buzz ( guy up the road ) revving his 916 -so I pulled in to say hello.
Buzz has allways said he'd chuck me the keys of his bike for a ride one day, but I never really took much notice - anyway true to his word he gave me the keys!
Motor is awesome loads of power - feels like a stroker constantly in it's power band, really light and stable - first time I have ever rode a bike with really sticky tyres - what can I say = glued to the road. Sound was fantastic great for pushing cagers out of the way - they just move.
Bad stuff was the clutch which was a switch - stalled it acouple of times - how embarassing and funnily enough it requied abig shove to get it to turn + brakes were not so good as my TRX, but that was it - all the cr*p written by journalists I thought it would be a pig!
It was one really enjoyable motorcycle and I am now off for another fix before it has to go back!

Re: Ducati 916
nice jacket by the way.
and i've always wanted to try one of those 916s. very nearly bought one that was on-the-cheap, instead of the TRX.
but ultimately, the TRX was calling to me from afar. don't regret it at all.
different kind of animal. i wanted something with more pliable road manners. not such a 'scalpel' for the road, as you put it.

Re: Ducati 916
Love riding mine. My brakes are a stack better than my TRX blue spots.... That might be because they are race brembo ones....
