Keihin FCR 41mm Flatside Carburettors decisions

I am currently wrestling with the idea of purchasing a pair of Keihin FCR 41mm flatslide carbs. There are a couple on Ebay for £617 plus delivery. The thing is are they going to make enough of a difference to warrant parting with said sum of cash. If I want high speed thrills I go out on the Busa. I love my TRX for different reasons to why I cant part with the Busa. Will fitting these carbs enhance the TRX enough to justify the outlay. Also does anyone know anyone that does them a little cheaper, the ones on Ebay are specifically for the TRX. Your input and thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks David.

these are the best upgrade available. Just bolting on fcrs to a standard motor plus some big bore headers and cans gives an instant 90bhp at the wheel!
But. ...... Depends what you are after.
If i had a Busa in the garage for my high speed thrills and had money to spend on the TRX, personally i would go for suspension mods to improve handling plus sticky tyres.

It's like asking someone with erectile disfunction if viagra is worth it. You can always get by with what you have but it's even better with a little more of what you want when you want it ... certainly puts a smile on my face.... The fcr's that is

Viagra ISN`T worth it, gives your heart a hard time and you might just die from using it! Funeral directors are ferked off with not being able to nail down coffin lids Cobba.

Fact - it is the best value performance upgrade you can do (assuming you have already junked the standard headers). And even with the standard headers, you will see big gains - at least 7bhp at the wheel (using standard airbox) and up to 11bhp with pod filters etc.

But the cost is not just £617 plus delivery. I doubt that includes filters and cables but even if it does, you are going to need dyno time to have it set up - factor in £150 if you want it doen properly.

Next fact - bhp only makes you quick in a straight line. If you want to go faster where it matters, invest in suspension, brakes and tyres

Just going down the fitting FCRs route as Phuk says it aint any where near the base cost of the carbs - hellova a lot of p'ing about til it's right - do make a very nice noise and best of all they don't take away the bottom end, make the bike peaky or ruin the power delivery in any way

Lot of dosh however and as has been said sticky tyres handling iprovements are another - possibly better way to smiles per miles

Mikuni TDMR 40 mm will be a good choice, I have them on my Trixie and was the best choice as them are sold with a complete kit... (cables+ adaptors).
