2008 R6 Rear shock

Hi all ive just perchased a brand new 2008 R6 Rear shock from Fleabay for £50.00 i hope this model will fit the old TRX along with Kayla's adaptor has anyone used this year.

Hi Herb, ive gone the 2006 --R6 red spring ..
with the adapter, works well...hope youve got the tuneing fork styled lower to fit the adapter

Oh , and search R6 shock on the forum to find the settings Fung worked out.

Yes it is the forked type shock,i have added a link to evilbay as i do not know how to post pics yet.I thought £50 was damn good for a new shock these things must cost a packet from yamaha.I have had the bike about a month now and will strip it right down during the winter so im just scratching the surface at the moment replacing the obvious items.

Yep..thatll go well....you will need an extra bolt for the extension when you fit it up...one for the top..[youve already got]
One for the linkage and ...one for the adapter..
A really worthwhile for the TRX, along with braided brake lines and a HID headlight kit.

Easiest way as a starting point is to go to the RACETECH site

( 87kg by the looks)

Get the spring rate and ideal weight for the shock to start and then find the std R6 settings and depending on your weight... go from there...
As a ballpark I'm around the 85kg mark suited up and on the 4th preload is comfortable riding but one more is a good comprimise for a bit more harder throttle work
