I actually have my FCR`s off the bike just now so could have a shufty in them later today to confirm the other jet sizes which right now are evading my ageing memory bank.

Re: A Couple Of FCR Questions
I run 170 mains in the UK, at times (when very warm) they are a tad fat / rich but 165`s were coming in a tad lean on the dyno so I stayed with 170`s.

Re: A Couple Of FCR Questions
Well we`ve had temperatures this week as high as 23 degrees C, incredible for March in Scotland. Last year we still had minus temperatures in double figures overnight and 5`of laying snow in places!
I`m going to strip my FCR`s today, I`ll post my jet sizes etc.

Re: A Couple Of FCR Questions
An update for your amusement...the bike ran progressively worse until it was unbearable. I realise that while I had been very careful to clean any swarf out of the float bowl after drilling I forgot to clean the flex jet threads and have introduced fine aluminium particles to the carb. Brilliant! The Mikunis are back on the back for the 3rd time while the Keihins get a clean. Am getting very quick at swapping out carbies now

I would appreciate those sizes, Mince, also the airscrew setting?
PS, we sometimes double that temperature here in Melbourne - not pleasant but good for drinking beer.

Did you see them, they are posted on the `other` FCR thread?![]()
Alternatively rush them down to a local garage where they should have a compressed air gun you can blow through the drillings. Alternatively you might find some clean petrol in a syringe will flush things through too.

Re: A Couple Of FCR Questions
Initially I was confused because after doing the "matrix" (air and fuel screw adjustments) I put the airbox on (instead of the ramair filter)...but the hesitation/missing was unrideable the next day...and was clearly due to more than just chucking the airbox on. Numpty about sums it up. I expect to find particles in the float bowl and fuel/pilot passage on one side (at least). Big week at work coming up so won't get to it for at least 10 days.
We had our 11th wedding anniversary yesterday and I am seeing a parallel...strong initial attraction, some tuning involved, long and happy relationship after

Oh and that unseasonal weather:

That`s what living in Scotland is all about, bi-polar weather!

and maybe longer fuel/vac tubes so I can tune with the motor running.
You are correct on the throttle...must stop mindlessly wringing its neck to enjoy the noise/power or I'll start getting some fines
Hello chaps, I have recently bought a set of this after reading this thread as I remember alot of cocking around last time on the dyno to get fuelling right. However, I just want to double check before I do it, that you have to remove the brass screw that is already in there to fit these and do I need to take the bowls apart to do this???
Thanks.

Re: A Couple Of FCR Questions
Yes, those REPLACE the standard screws and depending just how good the casting of the float bowl is you `might` have enough clearance to get the old ones out and those longer ones in.
I tend to take the float bowls off though of course when installing the new type the float bowl MUST be in place.
