Jack up kits. Pros and cons ???

I've been thinking of lifting the back end a little but by how much I don't really know. Would doing this sacrifice the handling or make it better. Do you then need to lift the front or lower it? Could someone enlighten me on the best way to go

I have just fitted YZF dogbones (shorter than trx ones) which lift the back end, and then put the forks back to standard drop-through on the yokes. The handling is now spot on for me. Slightly sharper turn-in, extra ground clearance but still stable up to 130mph.
No real disadvantages. Leans over a bit more on the stand but not unsafe. Seat heaight a bit higher, but i have long legs. Slightly more forward riding position so bit more weight on wrists but again not really noticeable.
I've done this mod to all my 4 TRXs.
The yzf dogbones give just the right lift for me and are freely available. Think you can still get them new from Yamaha for not a lot.

Can someone confirm the hole centre measurement that is required to lift the rear about an inch?

what is the trx STD measurement?

what is the YZF's replacements measurement?

or is that to raise up the YZF as it appears from the ad so therefore not what the TRX needs

Cheers mate. When you say drop the forks back to standard....what do you mean by this as my trx is standard setup anyway?

The standard amount of fork tube showing above the clip-ons is 18mm. But dropping the forks through more, so maybe up to 30mm shows, will quicken the steering as it increases the angle of the forks.

Raising the rear does the same thing as dropping the forks.

So, I raised the rear with yzf dogbones and put the forks back to about 18mm showing.

Does this make sense....??
