need catch tank for racing? any ideas?

Hi Guys,
Im going racing this year with my trx in the msv trackday racing series and am nearly ready but need one last item to make the bike comply and this is an oil tank. heard that the harris bellypan will do this. does anyone know where i can get one or have one they would like to get rid of? i have cash!! or an equivalent.

A full length bellypan is what you need. Harris ones are rare now, but there may be similar items available new still from one of the european bodywork manufacturers. Try a search on the forum.

Also, post up what dates you're racing and where and you may get some visitors to offer you some completely irrelevant and incorrect advice on what you're doing wrong!!!

Ive been racing one all last year, have you thought of putting a full fairing on it helps on those long straights when you are a bit down on power to everybody else!!

Nice that looks awesome, had to have a second look to check it was a trx. I didnt know you could get a full fairing for it, where did yours come from if you dont mind me asking and how was it for racing?. my engine has been done with a big bore kit, cans and fcr 41's. just waiting for kaylas big bore headers to be finished then should be putting out round the 95 bhp area. have you got any other ideas that may help?

if you dont' want to go the full fairing route, an R6 race bellypan / fairing lower can be easily and neatly cut down to fit

This fairing is a WCM replica made by SDC Racing of Stevenage and is usually fitted to minitwin racers. I have found it very good and durable last season but this year i have fitted an R7 fairing as i am doing the Golden Era Superbikes and the WCM would look out of place with all the ZX7,s and YZF750,s

thanks for letting me know i will contact them to see if they can help out, are you keeping the old fairing? or should i say looking to sell on in the future . also it looks lie you have spent a bit to go racing is the trx worth it? i know its not gonna be the fastest thing out there but hoping its gonna be good in the corners, this is my strongest area.

The one I saw done was from an early R6 (99/2000) but I don't think it matters too much

You are right on both counts. Corner exit seems to be the TRX forte and still being reliable when the Ducatis are all breaking down. The spectators seem to like to see them going round so you should be popular!

Hay winder, howd you get on on sunday? would love to have come down to see you but had parents down from scotland. when you racing next? any at snetterton? will be doing a few trackdays soon to do a shakedown on bike, 1st one booked at cadwell on 1st of april plus taking my acu licence test at the same time. would come to meet you racing if im not doing anything with my bike. let me know.
