Perhaps it is a stealth anti-radar coating...

We all should go easy on the poor blighter as by the look of that PILLOW on the seat , he or she has HEMAROIDS....!!
Seriously, the glue from those patches would do more harm in the long term to the paint than stone chipping or scratches.

I may not like certain modifications or styling but I can usually appreciate the work or accept the "because I can" response.
