Re: Big bore headers available soon
What about shapes and diameter? Over and even Akra pipes stick out more than standard ones. Pipe diameter also vary slightly on Over and Akra as the gasses progress through them no?

Re: Big bore headers available soon
I just got off the phone to Tony at Gibson and he said he could do taperd headers no problem as he could blow them out and a 2-1-2 would be ok if he could get some pics of the over system. Call him or email him if your interested as if he gets enough orders this would persuade him over this winter to have a good look into it. Headers to link pipe would be £400-£450 as a guess he said so add a bit for the link pipes too.

Re: Big bore headers available soon
Hi all
Not sure if you guys are still interested but I rang Tony up from Gibson exhaust and had a quick chat with him about headers. Talked 2-1-2 systems, tapered would be circ 800 and simple big bore would be circ 500... he wasn't too keen to confirm a price until he actually made a set which I understand from his point of view but not ideal from a buyers point of view.
If big bore, we would have to be of one type, 2-1-2 or 2-1, for a run of 5 to 10 although general consensus seems to be 2-1-2.
I know Over systems are tapered but what about a MAB system? If tapered as well, then what bore/shape to go for if going for a non tapered option? Any down sides between big bore vs tapered?
Mince posted a link for new Over pipes @991€ which is at the mo, circ £850 (prices exclude VAT)... tempting to spend that little extra and get the real deal me thinks.
Please Santa, please be kind this year!

Re: Big bore headers available soon
Kayla can get 2 into 1`s for the TRX made up to use generic 2" / 50mm bore race cans too rememeber.
She had one on her TRX, looked very nice and did help to release a few more ponies. I know she has recently had headers made for Yamaha SZR660 singles, they look rather nice too.
For the MAB system dimensions speak to killerwhale, he has a MAB system unless he`s now sold it.

Joining this topic a little late in the day but does anyone know of a manufacturer that does a 2 into 1 that exits on the left side of the bike.

Now that's Interesting that it isn't tapered. I remember you saying the power delivery was more mid range on the MAB, so more suited for every day use perhaps, when the Akra is more at the top end! Just need to find the spec of those headers somewhere on the web then
Cheers

Re: Big bore headers available soon
Why not email MAB for the specifications, tell them you are thinking of purchasing some from them:
