:o well I contacted a locksmith and he suggesed to spray wD40 up into the lock to wash out any dirt that may have gotten into the lock. :) OK turned the tank upside down gave it a good spray and washed out the lock. well before I had a little movement in the lock and the tumblers..now I insert the key and have no movement at all...all it has managed to do was flush out also whatever lubricant there was also in the lock itself so be wary of this. I didn't have the key turning the full 45 degree tho of the tumblers to engage the latch mecanism which moves another 45degrees on the key till open. I've just tried a teflon based wd100 dispersant and lubricant still with no luck.. So think twice about DW40 as it leaves you with no lubricatation within the lock itself and when adding graphite it sits on top and needs to actually be worked into the lock by working the lock as such... So i found the following day from a fellow at work who worked for RACQ doing a lot of motor vehicle call out repairs..NEXT CHALLENGE HOW TO LUBRICATE THE TUMBLERS ONCE AGAIN  :)

:D Oil the key, push it in and out of the lock whilst trying to turn this will work it into the tumblers (they are just small spring loaded pegs).

WD40 is good to use in ignition locks if they've been soaked with rain water, but i'd use 3in1 for lubing it up
TRX850 1997 - sunny day twisty toy
TDM900 2003 - commuting tool
TDM850 mk1 - scratching & touring
Z750 hardtail - project
gone but not forgotten : - XTZ750, GS500, GS125
