Fuel Tap bolts
Anyone know what length, size, pitch they are? Was thinking of getting some thru Yamaha, but don't wanna pay the exorbinant price. Would like to get similar, but with an allen head so they don't turn to cheese when you try and screw /unscrew them. Anyone know if the "cheap" fuel caps like Bike It are any good and do they vent properly? Or do you have to go for a quality one like an Oberon?

Re: Fuel Tap bolts
Wot he sed, thats wot I did. IIRC, they go right through into tank so length not vital.
Problem I had was getting the tap to seal properly after I'd took it off and put it back. (I'm too tight to buy a new rubber O seal!!)

Thanks guys. Got the sealing o-rings and the washers, just looking for a cheaper alt than std Yamaha bolts cost-wise. Will check out the local nut and bolts places.

Re: Fuel Tap bolts
yer had a mate yrs ago that worked at a bolt supplier when i rebuilt a 79 bonnie . took down the bolts they just measured them up and handed them to me so changed the whole bike to capheads(allen keys). You'll find they will be a high tensile steel too

Re: Fuel Tap bolts
Hi Wombat!
Since they're no fine pitch thread (but standard metric thread) they are M6 x 1.0.
