Back on track, I bought some tank sealer from an ebay seller coz it was cheap & when it came it looked remarkably like, if not exactly the same as the stuff I'm using to make fibreglass molds with. 
& I've already got loads of that. & there wasn't nearly enough activator with it so had to use my own. 
Oh well I've been out on the bike tonight having touched up the white paint where the fuel had eroded it & it seems to have worked but it took hours & hours to go off which is rubbish really. Had I know it was just polyester resin with a catalyst I would have used my stuff which goes off in 20 minutes.
