Ring 0844 8584658 and speak to Dan.
Have your pc on this page:

http://ramair-filters.com/motorbike/fra ... rbike.html

And chat away to this most helpful and knowledgable bloke.
I told him I would be passing details on to the forum members and he assures me he`ll do all he can to help with your enquiries and needs.
By the way, apparently Pipercross and Raid/Janspeed(Ramairs new name)are working closely with one another AND the latest Ramair filters are now using a foam that flows even better than they`re old specification foam.
Another wee tip,my dyno engineer swears by the single and longer socks,MS-001`s.(150mm long)you can cut the open end down for fitment if required, this will give optimum surface/filtration area.
It`s horses for courses I suppose but he feels that the best fuelling is always achieved with single filters for each carb,I tend to agree with him too.

Ps,I`ve just ordered a pack of four single socks MS-001`s and the total cost £63.26.
Just over 15 quid each,it`s hardly worth me making some!
Time is tight for me just now, very busy in life and the FCR`s I`ve recently got for 200 quid are calling to me for fitment so I decided to plump for commercially made filters to save time.
AND with four I`ll always have a pair already clean and siliconed up to put on when those fitted become due for cleaning.

Available on ebay now, stumbled over them....

I received my four sock filters, duel stage foams, the inner seems really fine in cell structure and not like their old one which I`ve used for years on my SR 500.
All I`ve got to do now is secure me some time with my friendly dyno shop and then watch my fuel costs go up!

I can remember reading somewhere on the forum about a member who when trying to fit his FCR`s found the threaded inlet stubs too short, allowing the accelerator pump body to foul the oil tank filler neck.
Well what did I find today when I was setting about fitting mine?
EXACTLY the same problem!
So,it was a loooooooong phone call to helpful Steve at Allens to get this checked out and guess what?
His TRX set of FCR41`s he has in stock also has the 33 G(34.5 mm long)threaded stubs too.
VERY strange,I`m assuming there`s not been a change in inlet rubber lengths over the years has there,or any difference in the oil tank filler stub?
Anyways,it has us both a tad confused and me pretty miffed as I now have to machine up a pair of threaded cut billet blanks to my required lenght(approx 45 mm)then bore to match my carbs and rubbers.
I`ve set up the slides using some fine ground machined pins and am confident they are spot on,I`ve also fitted 170 mains after Killerwhale says that`s what he uses in summer.
Anyone got any guidance on slow running jet?As a starting guide obviously.
Furthermore it`s fooked my chances of getting them on and set up this week too,I`m not a happy man!
I work shifts and tomorrow night start my night shifts so I`ll be in my bed most of the days until my shift pattern ends, another thing that boiled my piss was having to refit the stock carbs as I need to ride the bike over to the dyno.
Not one of my better bike fettling days. :(

I had the superman of porting heads...but he said my inlet was to long and shorted them and exactly that happened. AND Steve at allens helped me out....although they are great they shipped 39´s to me so 2 trackday´s where spoiled.

Might add that i use the 170 with a sockfilter, when tried K&N it was a tad fat....

Ok,well in reply to Cobba first.
That missus of yours, she seems a little too preoccupied with the bladder adder does she not?
Oh and those stubs(33 G @ 34.5mm long)they ARE the ones supplied with the FCR 41 kits from Allens type correct according to their lists, all I can think of is that at some time Yamaha have used shorter/longer carb to inlet rubbers, apart from that we`re all stumped by the problems encountered.
Anyway,I received my 46.5 mm long stub blanks today, they require machining on their O/D to match the inlet rubber diameter and a smooth radiused groove put into the machined O/D to locate in the inlet rubbers internal lip.
Apart from that little workshop job I`m now all prepared to to get them fitted, given some time in life to do it! :(
Rang Allens today to thank them for their excellent service and ask for some `cheeky` discount for forum users too.
The price of a kit(carbs,stubs(33 G`s,)and cables etc retails at £810.80,PLUS the vucking added tax.
I managed to get a agreement that for FOUR kits ordered at the same time the price for each would be trade £632.82 plus the VAT.
Working that out with the application of 15% VAT,(has it changed back to 17.5% yet?)the TOTAL saving equates to £204.43 so worth having.
Members would obviously need to communicate to one another regarding which of the four or more was going to place the order obviously.

I was cussin´ in the garage when getting the allen jobs but pounded them in the rubbers....after many miles they are now a fit (guess heat etc. fixed the fitting) So machining is NOT nescessary....but easier...

Hmmmm, not sure I would have gone down that route Killerwhale, split rubbers can lead to unwanted children you know.
I`ve just found this lot advertising FCR kits for TDM`s and TRX`s and guess what?

http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/pr ... ts_id=3987

There must be a difference between TDM and TRX sets as the part number 016.671 is finished with an `a`(016.671a)when it`s the TRX fitment.Maybe that`s because of the difference in the inlet stubs?
A better retail price than Allens too!

Might also add that i´ve now gone down to 165 as when i tried the dB killers on they carbed up right away. Guess the new porting is a tad more effective...we´ll see on the dyno.
Anyway, no bogging at all as it did previously with 165´s.

Ha Ha, no no way. Temp dropped to about 12c this evening and there where the bog again will go back to 170 for the dyno and then if a tad off i´ll fix it later....

'Fraid it was me with the short spigots... my kit was originally made for the TDM, and with the short ones the carbs fouled the filler neck... needed another 15-20 mm to clear so machined my own from a section of aluminium scaffold pole ... just the right size! Unfortunately my machining skills weren't good enough to match the orignial spigot's inner taper so mine 'just' have parallel IDs .. Still work though =D>

Inner taper?
You mean to match the I/D of the inlet rubbers surely?
My inlet rubbers have a parallel bore to their O/D,there`s no taper that I can see.I will be carefully matching I/D`s as I noted the supplied original 34.5 long stubs(33 G`s) were not concentric, there was an undercut opposite to a slight overlap, final dressing will be done by hand and a needle file if required.
So there`s TDM specific kits is there?
Well Allens have kits that are listed as suitable for both TDM and TRX but contain the 33 G stubs at 34.5 mm long,I`m certain they have it wrong but won`t push the matter as anyone can be wrong.
