Re: Hello all.
I'm kinda hoping that as well! I have an awful habit of "buying blind" and it's only bit me in the arse once so far. I'm sure it'll be as good as it looks and if it's not then I'm sure it will by the time I've finished.Trixz wrote:

Planning on some uppy downies and a better headlight (I believe the FZR400RR jobby fits).
After that; run it and enjoy it for a year or so and then take it to bits for fun etc. May change it to a Loctite rep as well.
And to think I nearly bought a Ducati m900!

Re: Hello all.
Well, I picked her up on Tuesday. It's in pretty good nick, just a few scabby bolts here and there and a small amount of surface rust on the subframe. But other than that all's well!
The noise it makes is awesome. My neighbours hate me already!!
One thing that's bothering me a bit is that it's very lumpy low down the rev range and quite snatchy at town speeds. Is this down to worn emulsion tubes? I got a dyno print out with the bike that says it had a dynojet kit fitted with 138 mains. Are these not a bit small? Needles have been adjusted to the second notch? It also has scorpion cans.
Will post some decent piccys after the Saturday stripdown.
P.S. Anyone in or around the West Berkshire area??

Re: Hello all.
Cheers Dave,
I 've pretty much been pootling round town in either 2nd or 3rd. Was just wondering if this was normal as I'm used to four bangers.
I think I'll do the tubes anyway for peace of mind.
Once you get over 3 grand it just flys. Gave me a real fright getting on the M1 on Tuesday when I gassed it off the slip road in 2nd!
I couldn't work out for a while why all the traffic was going so slowly. Then I looked down and saw that I was the wrong side of 120 MPH. OOOPPS!!

Re: Hello all.
Re emulsion tubes, how many miles ago were they changed? as you may find that they dont need changing, it sounds as if they are fine from how you describe its running.

Re: Hello all.
The bikes done just over 20 thou. Was laid up for a few years hence the low mileage. Sadly there's no history with it other than the Dyno print from around 8 months ago when it was put back on the road.
I've treated it to a full service this morning and my tame mechanic said she's in fine fettle. I trust him so that's good enough for me.

Re: Hello all.
The snatchiness could be down to chain or throttle cable adjustment. Rex'ys are very sensitive to this.
