Hi All,
I'd had my TRX for about 3 months. TBH i only bought it cos it was cheap (£500) but i've grown to love it!! It a blue '96 bike with about 15k miles on it. It's in pretty good condition except the fairing which has been battered from all sides! I was wondering if anyone has any experience of the Skidmarx fairing which retails at about £115 as I would like to improve the cosmetics over the winter.
I've already sorted the forks which were awful by raising the oil level, and i'm in the process of fitting some blue spot calipers and new discs as the old ones have warped. On friday i'm picking up a set of Art race cans which i have bought on ebay so will be fitting them over the weekend.
Thanks very much, Andy.

Andy,
Funnily enough, I rang Yamaha today about a new OE one, and the price is £335 colour coded, FYI.
If you go for a pattern one, like skidmarx, it'll come in white, so budget at least £50 for paint/lacquer and £50 for someone to put it on.
I found a place called RS Bike Paints that do all the Yamaha original paints, if you give them the code.
Cheers,
Dave.

(Speaking from experience) the blue is an absolute bitch to match.
It will need to be matched by eye by an experienced sprayer - it's not just a matter of buying a teh right colour code. I ended having my entire bike sprayed Yamaha Racing blue rather than trying to match bits

Andy
Hi, purchased my TRX project as a cat C write off so I needed all ,new plastics from the start of the re build. I purchased a Skidmarx fairing, screen fender and single tail piece from the NEC last year, excellent price delvery and service.
The headlight does not attach to the fairing as original but bolts to the original subframe, this leaves the fairing unattached to the headlight, attached at mirror mounts and radiator fitting only.
The screen will need fitting, mounting holes need drilling, take your time. The standard indicator bases pushed through the fairing and needed a base plate manufacturing from the old fairing plastics which I attached to the inside of the skidmarx unit.
I had graphics made localy and sent all items, tank, fender, fairing and tail piece to be profesionally prepared and sprayed.
