Chain length
I have decided improve my gearing by going 17/42 tooth sprocket combination and I'm now wondering if standard 110 links is enough for chain. So do I need 112 links or is 110 links enough for new sprockets and chain?

Re: Chain length
Hi TomiF!
Worked for me for years 'till I decided to change to 16/42 - perfect for track days (reaching 8000 rpm just right at my braking point at the end of the straights in Oschersleben and Lausitzring
).
Sufficient greetings from Munich!
For this gearing the standard chain length is enough.TomiF wrote:I have decided improve my gearing by going 17/42 tooth sprocket combination and I'm now wondering if standard 110 links is enough for chain. ...

Re: Chain length
KEDO has a neat calculator online, actually gives mm on the axle as well....TomiF wrote:I have decided improve my gearing by going 17/42 tooth sprocket combination and I'm now wondering if standard 110 links is enough for chain. Re: Chain length
Standard 110 is fine
I recently put a new chain and sprockets on mine (usual 17/42 combo) and the nice people at B&C calculated that I need an extra 2 links over standard. So they sent me a 112.
Which we ended up cutting 2 links out of

Thanks for answers. My trx has now new chain and sprockets installed and that 110 was just fine.

Re: Chain length
Sure you are
I can't wait to get to test that on a circuit now.
