oil all over engine

been out for a blast today oil all over engine bike has fcr,s fitted and engine breather is just stuck between pod air filters any ideas how to fix also any where in weston super mare area for a dyno tune up how have you fcr owners sorted yours any help welcome cheers dill

do you have a filter on the breather? you should have. also check your oil level.

possibly you have blow by on the rings and it's pressurising the crankcase.

Is it like an oil "mist" over the bike??
I had a small leak in my old valvecovergasket and when going fast.....

no i dont have a filter on the breather also wondered would the carbs suck oil out ?

I used the breather that was connected to the crank case ( has a valve inline ),it went to the original air box . I have a single pod filter and the crank hose runs into that. my bike smells of oil , no marks or stains and no oil discharge

Bob's prolly talking about the OE breather filters, yanno the ones about the size of a large acorn...

FWIW I used a couple of those breathers in line and just stuffed the loose end between the K&N pods... I can always smell hot oil after a fast run, but have never had a visible leak ...

Crank breather doesn't have a valve on it, and just goes to the airbox to use it as an oil catch tank. Putting it up by the pod filter is fine if the airbox is out, it'll suck back in any oil fumes and stop it smelling. mines like that. Should ideally have a filter on it of some sort though: either a specific one or a bit of gause/stocking (!) with a laggy band round it.

No real suggestions on the oil problem soz, but you need to establish where it's coming from: check down the breather for oil and round the engine gaskets etc: give it a good clean and go out for a short blast and check when you come back. Check your oil level first before you go out though: may have lost more than you think!

Bound to be a dyno in Bristol somewhere: have a check on yell.com or ask a local dealer. FCR's really need setting up propper on a dyno.

I've seen a recommendation on my local forum for Kenny @ Ace Motorcycles in Bude or there's Dynomap in Exeter. There's also a mobile dyno guy who was at V&J in Bridgwater a little while back (AFAIK he's called Mutts Nuts Mobile Dyno).

ok washed it put some kitchen roll over breather no oil it looks like its the oil filler cap should there be a rubber o ring/gasket mine has nothing?

there should be an o-ring on the face of the oil filler cap.
