So, i changed tank/tap

Post by Killerwhale » Thu May 08, 2008 7:00 am

I got myself another tank and when fitting i noticed two differences from my -98 stuff....

First there where TWO breather connections on the bottom of tank where the -98 has one...
On the fueltap there where no clip-on so one actually has to take off the rubber hose when lifting tank...bugger...

So, what do you have and wich model? ....Just curious on what year i got here...

Need to see a pic of this - never seen 2 vents on the tank base.

I have a pile of those hose clips if you need one. All model years have them as stock.

:? Don't know about the breathers, but the fuel hose on mine stops the tank from being lifted.

IIRC there are 3 hoses that connect to the tank

fuel and vacuum tp the petcock and a breather that attached to the tank itself

"He said petcock, he he heh he"....no seriously....

In the "new" tank there where two "taps" whereas i only had one on my tank.
I´m starting to think that one is a breather and one is an overfiller!?
Either way i added a rubber hose down to the ground....

Hi killer!

Not that I can much identify on your picture - but on my tank (96 model) there are two breather hoses as you describe (and yes, they must be on a similar position as on your pic).
