Speedo Dash Lights??

Post by Loud Pipes save Lives » Wed May 14, 2008 8:14 am

stuiped question,

but when im riding home at night time i have noticed that the top half of my speedo has light but the bottom half (80 kms and below) is not lit up.

is this a standard or have i got a blown globe in my speedo.

if so, are globes easy to replace on the speedo instrutement panel?

Blown globe and easy to replace . mines not standard but I think the easy way is remove the fairing or maybe remove the gauges , both simple to do

as above ,, its a good idea to change all of them while its in bits , they are only cheap , its a push in rubber plug , and test them in the holders before you fit it back together 8) 8)

replace them all together ;)
every time i've only replaced one on a speedo, shortly after reassembling everything atleast one other has gone

Take the fairing off, it's far easier.

A word of advice, based on experience, if you decide to take the fairing off, when you put it back again, do not overtighten the 4 nuts that attach the headlight/ fairing assy to the frame.
