It's a bling of beauty

Post by phuk72 » Tue Mar 25, 2008 11:49 am

Just got my frame back from the powder coaters. As you all know I don't do polishing (mainly cos I'm lazy but I ride all year and it's too high maintenance) so when I found somewhere that did proper chrome powder coat ......

It's a relatively new technique and the photos don't do it justice but it is just like chrome. Have seen this tried as powder coat before and it comes out like brushed aluminium - but this is amazing .....

Very trick indeed!

So, is the finish virtually mirror then? Cant really tell from the photo.

Yep - mirror finish is a most excellent way of describing it

That Aerocoat site link is interesting: you had the Aeromax treatment then? They say it's their most popular. Found the price list too  Ahem!

Also interested in some of the exhaust header treatments they do: my headers always look rubbish and was wondering what to do with them.

Although the link at the bottom of their page to 'Naked Racing' wasn't quite what I'd hoped for!

You having any other bits done in this or any other colours/methods?

How did I know you would go straight to the Naked Racing section

No, they are not cheap but nothing good ever is

And yes, there are some other bits receiving some TLC

tbh I reckon for a frame that's not a bad price, for the finish you get.

I agree - especially when you compare to the cost of 'normal' powder coating
