I find it easiest to remove the clip-ons, as they get in the way of the top yoke pinch bolts. Then undo the bolts on one leg, adjust the height, tighten, and do the same on the other leg

From what I've heard, the DynoJet kits are crap, but I have no experience myself. They are supposed to be optimized for a particular motorcycle model. For this, they charge more than standard parts, which, if it worked would be OK... But people claim they wear out really fast. FactoryPro has been mentioned as a good alternative, same idea, but better material choice. My own tip would be to call Steve at http://www.topham.de, speaks English (probably an ex-pat), with good Mikuni/TRX knowledge, and good service for even lower prices than Kedo. He knows what You'll need!

I could tell you but some people might not like me to, as it's very complicated.TRiXy wrote:what's this dynojet kit consist of? i've heard of plenty of people selling them but i'm not really sure what they are to justify the $$ is it just carby jets? or is there more to it?

But anyway................TRX DJ kit consists of a pair of needles and 3 sizes of main jet. As Hans said they're "optimised" for the model of bike - oe jetting has to meet certain emissions requirements which may cause restriction or impaired throttle response for example. The DJ kit "should" allow the carbs to work more ideally. Main jets are selected depending on air filter and exhaust combination.
I have one fitted and I think it's an improvement. Whether or not it justifies it's price tag is another matter, and may not be what you want to do.
As far as wearing out, I think that is old history. Old DJ needles were turned on a lathe - when the tool got old, ridges would appear on the needle. These ridges worked like a file on the emulsion tubes. Newer DJ needles don't suffer from this.
I used a Factory Pro kit on a previous TRX. Unfortuantely the TRX was never sold in the US, so the kit is for the TDM - Factory Pro had at that time never laid hands on a TRX. FP have different ideas about needle design to DJ. The jet sizes are different in the FP kit as it's meant for the TDM. I found the DJ kit more useful for this reason. Both kits give a fatter feel to the mid-range and better throttle response imo.
I would suggest that if you just want to sort out your running problems then you don't ned one, although if you do get one you may be pleased with the difference.

That's right, let's discuss real world issues instead
Gas prices, that'd be more relevant instead of fuel efficiency, or?
(And Jak, I used smilies as You insisted
)
OK, fair enough with the DJ kits, there are so many hard-to die "truths". Fact is, until properly tested, It's hard to tell which makes the biggest improvement, the DJ design or the re-jetting itself? But it's good to know that the DJ are not as crappy as I wrote, makes it less risky to test them!
