Emulsion tube prices and reputable bike shops in general
Just how much should i expect to pay to replace the emulsion tubes in my bike? i've just recieved a quote from Pro Yamaha in Slacks Creek for the following:
Jet Block Seal x 2 = AU$17.96
Nozzle, Main x 2 = AU$138.64
Needle Set x2 = AU$159.74
-----------------------------------
Total for 2 carbies = AU$316.34
that to me seems unbelievably expensive!
anyone else replaced their emulsion tubes recently?? anyone recommend a bike shop in SE QLD that doesn't charge like a wounded bull???

why do you need the jet block seals and needles? you only need the nozzles.
you could try Factory Pro in the US. Their website will list a stockist near you.
Or Kedo in Germany will ship worldwide. Their catalog number is 28958 and is priced at 12.50 euro each (that's 21.47 aussie pesos). Order some oil filters while you're at it, cos they're dirt cheap.

I have brand new needlejets & jetneedles wich you can have for 50€ wich according to online converter is 85 aussie bucks. needlejet - the jet inside which the needle sits (emulsion tube) (nozzle, main)
jetneedle - the needle inside the jet (needle)
downloads section includes a useful parts document, pages C2, C3 and C4 refer.

what's the difference between
30601 TRX850 KEDO Anti-Ruckel-Kit
and
28958 Nadeldüse (STD), 1 Stück???
looks to me like the anti-ruckel kit is 2 needles and tubes, as well as main and idler (or primary/secondary) jets and the seals?

the anti ruckel kit is non-stock spec parts. I've never used that kit, but I have seen posted on the German forum that it has caused problems. I think it's anti surge thing, but not sure.

i followed youngys advice on this one and bought 2 emulsion tubes and a dyno jet kit from kedo ,think it arrived in about 3 days to the UK
ended doing the tubes myself and took around 4 hours to remove the carbs and and hour following the guides that are on this forum for replacement of the needles etc and there is a post on how to split the carbs on this forum and its pictured to really help then around about 2 hours to put back together again
all in all cost me about £120 sterling as the yamaha workshops here too were wanting to charge the earth for doing it

well done that man for having a go ,,its the only way to learn ,,and although it might seem a bit daunting at first, striping the carbs down ,its a stepping stone for bigger challenges,,well done , and don't it feel great that you didnt have to pay all that money out ,,,,now about those shims

Maybe I am way off ,but isn't 120 stirling about $316 aussie peso's

ha ha thanks steve , didnt think i could be arsed with stripping it and making sure i reset the floats etc correctly thats why i was going to put throught a workshop. Pleased i didnt as yes you learn the bike alot quicker by just giving it a go
just recieved my new diablo tyres today so i have a new chain & sprockets , set of R1 calipers and new lines and tyres to slap on next asap , and i decided to change the plugs and put a set of samco water pipes on whilsts the carbs were off ( must say i kinda like em )
never fitted tyres before so going to a friends garage to give it a go there
Question - as im fitting a 120/70 front instead of the standard 120/60 i have read about adjusting the front forks, is it simply a case of raise the clips ons upto the tops - dont beleive i would need to adjust the preload etc as i weight 10.8 st and not really enough to manipulate the bike much
