Front end feels light

Post by pwmotorsports » Sun Feb 17, 2008 8:58 pm

Well me front end feels a little to light really maybe its because i got used to the forks being way through the clamps before i switched to the new flat bars on her or maybe now the front end needs the rear raising a little to put some more weight on it ? Dogbones maybe? other suggestions?

what he said ^^^

Also, have you got your suspension set up right? Many people neglect to do this properly! A couple of hours spent getting the sag right and sorting base settings can work wonders!

Start jacking the back up now - YXF dogbones work a treat and will cost you less than £20 (and an hour of your time)

no pics of your bike so can't see what you've done, but am I right in thinking you've changed the top yoke? So the measurement you need to make is from the bottom yoke then innit? cos if your top toke is thinner than the stock top yoke plus the clip-on, your measurement of 25mm could still be too little.

as Phuk said - is your suspension set correctly? rear damping and perload? tyre pressures too.

How about £15? Keep in mind that postage will be about €10 / £7,43 extra.
Edit: darn, that's a whole lot less then the <£20 Phuk suggested #-o

I got a PM from Killerwhale in the meantime, he was interested too but I think it will not be suitable for him because he already has dogbones from Kedo.

Edit: I'll give some measurements, as they are not genuine from the Yamaha factory.
They look like this (although not so shiny, took a picture from the net)
Image
Length from hole to hole: 170mm
holes diameter 12 mm
Width (on straight part) ~23 mm
Thickness 6 mm
