I would suggest you find a new tyre dealer as he clearly hasn't a clue what he's talking about.

70 profile front is used on almost every bike in the world with a 17 inch rim.

And it works great with the TRX.

Just back from my first spin with a 120/70 front.

It does feel MUCH better. Previously with the 120/60 it felt twitchy mid-corner and sometimes needed one or two steering corrections, never dangerous but I was always aware of it.

Now it feels much better tipping into corners and holds the line without any drama. And that was out on wet roads, with a brand new Pirelli Diablo Strada on the back.

I actually had to remind myself to slow down several times as I was on new tyres, as they felt great from the off.

I have Pilot Road 2s on my TRX, great tyres BTW, I also have 120/70/17 on the front. If you just fit the 120/70 17 the steering will feel slower and heavier, and well crap. By sliding the forks up in the clamps you can accomodate the extra sidewall height of the 120/70 and restore the front ride height. As standard the fork legs are set with 18.5mm from the top of the clipon clamp to the top of the fork tube ( not inc the cap). I have mine @ 33mm of for tube showing above the clipon mount with no clearance or stability issues.

Now with 140,000 on the clocks, X-mas tree didn't kill it & I still love it.

I have to be on Phuk's side

After a lot of good comments (here) about the 120/70 front tyre, I have one ready to be changed with the current 120/60 tyre. So I don't have a comment how it 'feels' yet, but surely it will be fine (as everybody already says, of those who made the change  )

110/70

Post by kebab19 » Mon Dec 31, 2007 2:20 pm

I noticed a while back that the early Fazer 600s run a 110/70-17 front tyre along with a 160/60-17 on the back wheel.

Has anyone ever fitted one of these ? Would it turn into corners even quicker than a 120/70 ?
