I believe this is the last mod the bike needs. Then it starts
to look like it supposed to as what comes to my eyes.
Very useful also here at the cold nordic countries..

The full akrapovic will be switched to ducati seatpipes...

The akrapovic downpipes up to the combining pipe will be used.
I don't know what is the best type for the set should it be 2-1-2 like the original or 2-2?? I believe the akrapovic has a small link pipe between the downpipes..

im a fan of the under seat exhaust.. But being an aussie, its hot enough as it is !

Take some pics of how your going to place your exhaust pipes, what i mean is how are you going to fabricate the new exhaust 2-1-2 / 2-2 and make it "stream lined" to suit the trx.. could be interesting

I love that rear tail, and the lights.. what is it ? home made or off the shelf ?

The tail and the cans are original Duc 916\996\998.
The driver seat is also from the Ducati, but the passenger seat is
the TRX one and fits still perfectly to original seat lock..

My wish is to have the pipes as they are in Ducati. Don't know
how it is gonna happen. I thought to make it by welding together
parts from some another bikes pipes. The outer diameter of the pipes
should be somewhere around 40-45mm. The TRX pipes are about 38mm I believe.

The tissue paper will last longer than I, maybe over few generations

I do like it a lot, when exhaust is mounted under the rear seat... but to take an 916 end... (not my idea )

Otherwise, it's coming together as a nice project I must say

Well, I have also an R6 (-99) tail but that would need more modifications
to the frame.. Also I don't have the seats for the R6 tail. The TRX tail is too narrow for the double pipes.
One problems is that the Duc drivers seat is about 50mm too short..

Spring is coming, so the project is moving again...
The Welding seams are not the best, as I have used MIG with AWS308 wire + Argon... Should
have been welded with TIG but I Don't own one....
The straight link pipe is dairy pipe 50,8mm x 1,25mm.

One thing with this is that the Ducati cans weight like hell... Have to seek for some
light aftermarket pipes for Ducati or 04-05 R1...

Some update.

Been ridden for some 1000km's. Still in one piece. Next thing should be to fit the missing
parts of the 2003 R1 front fairing..





The original ducati cans weight like hell, also the sound is not so great .
They look like aluminium cans, but filled with quite thick stainless steel three
chamber absorber. But not anymore .
Absorber replaced with straight pipe with holes (from IH tractor intake filter).

What is the single sided swing arm off ? Was it a major job to fit it ?

I have owned my TRX for almost 2 years and am getting the bug to do something different with it rather than change to a different bike as I like it soooo much.

i like the looks of it. Once the front fairing is finish the way you want, should look sweet.

Paint / colours going to be done aswell ? what i mean is the tail and tank seem to be slightly miss-matched, and the wheels look a bit.. odd being different colours.

But saying that, i like the overall stance of the bike. Hows it handle with that single swinger compared to stock ? is it a triumph swinger ?
