No more than when it was new, and a lot less than the missus....

DFH,
when it's getting close, you gotta be carrying a camera and get a snap of that 99,999 !!

When I was younger, reaching 100,000 miles was something of a ritual and me and my mates used to pull over at 100k and crack open a beer.

IMHO the whine is a characteristic of the gearbox. On the old list it was a big topic of conversation for a while as the early bikes..96/97 builds.. got to be a coupla years old.... but for the life of me I cannot remember any actual cases of gearbox troubles. Anyone else remember anything?
Occasionally as I prefer to use earplugs on rides other than suburban pootles about, I will ride the bike around the block sans plugs at the end of the day and scare myself with the gearbox noise. My Guzzi box made a noise like that just before it went..... bang
But the oil looks good every time I change it.... so no worries

Now thats not fair.... I had planned to pass through 99999 flat out in top to celebrate. Had the road all picked out and everything. But a snap of the guages at 99999 would guarrantee a TRX of the month winning photo...

I cannot possibly do that... not only am I a man but a professional photographer as well... only a woman would counternance relinquishing control to such an extent.....
I can see the conversation now. Please come and sit on this padded hankercheif I call a TRX pillion seat and take a photo of my speedo with this camera while I ride flat out in top gear. Only press the shutter when you see the little numbers roll 99999. You will need to use both hands to use this camera and dont drop it as its worth twice the value of the bike.
