Took bike for MOT today.

Thought I'd be nice and helpful - "yeah 5 o'clock is fine to pick it up - here's my mobile number - ring me if anything needs doing".

Gets there at 5.

Shop bloke - "Oh it failed."

Me - "What?"

Shop bloke - "It failed on a damaged rear tyre valve stem. But we left it so late in the day to test it, that we couldn't ring you and get it fixed in time, so you can either leave it here or bring it back tomorrow."

Me - "Gee thanks - you won't be charging me for a retest will you?"

Shop bloke - "Er no sir. Bring it back and we'll sort it."

Grrrrrrrr. So back tomorrow. And this time I'll be waiting while it's done. Gits.

at least it's nothing major.

still a pack of knobbers for doing that though.

It's a PITA fail point, small but a f*cker to fix - I was lucky when my rear tyre was marginal, I just nicked the Boost's wheel...

Knobbers just about sums them up - best of luck with the re-test!

Not been using those pressure indicator things have you? They tend to damage the valve housings.

Not me guv. Maybe previous owner abuser. the damage was splitting/tearing at or below the rim.

Take mine to the MOT place in Station RD Whittlesey, very good bloke who does the bike test.
