xtz750 head on a trx
Hi Team,
I I have a fairly buggered head on my 1996 TRX I am trying to replace. I am having very little joy finding anything, especially here in NZ, but have recently come across a XTZ750 3LD head from overseas that looks ok and is not to pricy.
Will the XTZ bolt straight on?
Cheers,
Nic

Thanks Paul,
I was being fooled by the listing title having trx in it.
Ok what about a TDM850 head?
Cheers

XTZ750 & TDM850 mk1 part number 3LD 11101 00
TDM850 Mk2 & TRX850 part number 3VD 11101 20
The prefix is a model number, the middle number is the part number and the suffix (00,01,20 etc.) is a supercession number
I's my opinion they are interchangable. I fitted TDM850 mk2 (1996 - 2000) head to mine - a straight bolt on fit

Thanks Dandywarhol,
So you are saying the xtz should fit?
I think I have found a TDM850 head but it might not have caps and that is the part i need the most.
Thanks for your feedback.

I think you'll find the cam caps are not interchangable on any head as they are machined together with the allotted head they belong to correct clearance.
Just like your conrods, the original cap stays with the original rod.

I've just checked further nico and part number 11101 is for a cylinder head - so there is a chance that the XTZ750 will NOT fit - sorry.
Your only definite answer is the 3VD 11101 20 of the post 1995 TDM

Re: xtz750 head on a trx
Thanks for all the feedback team.
Yes I was of the impression the caps would be matched to the head.
I am going to attempt to metal spray both faces and see if we can re-line bore it down and then plasti gauge it. Hopefully we can get within tolerances.......
Alternately I have found a TRX head in Aust but the shipping is killing me.
Thanks again everyone.
