yep 4 0. hairs going grey, eyesights started to deteriorate, joints ache.
when does the doctor start to take an unhealthy interest in my butt hole

I have decided to keep the trx and build a new rear end for it.

seeing as though I am doing that, I am looking for options - r6 has been done to death. anyone got any suggestions?

Dandy's on the money...

Yep, doesn't matter what you ride you'll use this same muscle groups.
Time for some hard yards.
Gotta look after number 1 first and no amount of money or bling will just fix it for you...
The last 3 years doctors and physio' s have just written me off with a back back and said just learn to live with it.
Until 4 weeks ago when I found an excellent 70 yr chiropractor who did a little Re alignment each week for the last 4 weeks which was causing the nerve impingement that none of the doctors picked up on.
Once again I have almost full range of movement with little or no pain so I have to do the hard yards once again myself to work on the same muscle groups .
It's just like having a hip replaced at age 40 , 11 yrs ago all over again as I had to do the hard yards back then too.

52 now and lots of grey - was finding the TRX with rearsets and low clip ons a bit much, so have bought a Speed Triple, funny not having a fairing there is so much windblast - still may slow me down, which will be a good thing as have just picked up a speeding ticket - which may take my licence!

62 and an osteopath keeps me supple after breaking 2 vertibrae 35 years ago.
Biggest single improvement I made was to fit a Projection Component's rearset adapter, lifting the pegs back and up 25mm - much less weight on my wrists :D

The chiro I see Dandy was a practising osteopath in the 1970's and then went to the US to study Chiropractics and came back to Oz and was instrumental in getting Chiropractics as a recognised medical profession over here in the 1980's. Got his PHd in psychology in the 90's so he's a mind, body n soul type dood.
Bit like when you finally find a good mechanic, you want to hang on to him.

its definitely not a fitness issue. I may be forty but I can still do this:

I just find I cant get the weight off my wrists when i am riding the bike. i toured scotland with the bike the way it was but i found it hard to just take it bit off and cruise, it just feels more comfortable flat out. I am hoping a more relaxed riding position will help

I am thinking about getting one of these:

this is the current situation:

Up and back. IMO get the seat and pegs right and the bar height/reach will fit into place.
Can you easily lift your arse off the seat by your legs alone?

Noo don't fit that orrible caff racer seat fit a good looking (R1m?) seat unit with a gel insert in the seat pad. I found a top yoke conversion with renthal ultra low bars worked wonders no more wrist ache & miles better round town or in traffic. The seat is still a plank so will be following my own advise regarding gel seat insert at some point.

I assume this is the wrist ache version, dropping the seat should make things lot better. I would not even move the bars until you've mocked up the sitting position. I could do 500 miles in a day on the Harris without any problems, I'm 5'10 and could put both feet flat on the ground when on it.

Good to hear.

I have dropped the seat nearly 3 inches so we will see how we go from there.

my knees aren't the best so I would rather it wasnt mega cramped, however since starting doing the track days I am getting a bit more comfortable in that position.

If the seat is too low and your knees are jacked up then you'll get back ache. I'll try for a 3rd time - can you comfortably lift yourself off the seat without using the bars to assist? :|
