I've never tried them but I'm intrigued about the design of a "wet" pattern at the extreme edges - when do you expect to lean the bike to the extreme edges in the wet???

Re: Maxxis SuperMaxx Diamond for road use?
I had Maxxis supermax sport on the TRX as a track tyre. It was very good. I don't think it would have lasted too well on the road.
I recently bought a Triumph Daytona with new Michelin Pilot Road 4's and they are the best all round tyre I have ever used, particularly when pressing at a very wet Donington Park trackday. They are quite simply astonishing!. They are very good in the dry too and have a hard centre section which should provide good wear on the road.
Having said all that I was well impressed with the maxxis, so if you are on a budget, give them a go.
