The start of something new.
All running and just a quick hose down so now it's the finishing touches.
Still needs a little bit of trimming here and there with the YAMAHA stamped in on the clutch cover painted silver and gold caliper and wavey disc on the rear. 878sp Decals matching the tank /tail decal colours are being made up for the fairing, Akrapovic stickers on it's way.

Still a little dark on this side but I can highlight the TRX cut out of the sprocket cover or peel of the carbon coloured sticker and go back to alloy.
I have a couple of spare cam covers so I might paint 1 in silver to see how that looks at the 500km check on clearances.

First ride today to bed the rings and I'm more than happy already with the extra power on tap.
Riding around loading it up to get things to bite in and I can't wait to turn the TPS on to make it a little more responsive.
Had to recalibrate the speedo though as with the new rear disc as the sensor was no longer just picking up on the disc bolts but the spacers in the wavey pattern disc too so at 60kmh the speedo was reading 180kph   not bad for about 5000rpm in 1st gear... 8) 8) if only...

Took the bike for its first good run today after bedding in the rings.
Good news on the head gasket front with no leaks from the copper head gasket. 8) 8)
I knew in theory it should work and it seems the revised ignition map I put together has fixed the excess cylinder pressure which was causing the coolant leak previously.

Before it felt like someone was putting on a hand brake at 7500rpm where now it spins up nice and fast freely and just want to keep revving past 9000rpm.

Open the throttle in 4th and it pulls hard from 4000rpm and 6000rpm it wants to jump out from between your legs And hang on because it's at 9000rpm before you know it and its still pulling.
Just touched on the limiter at 9500 in 3rd on one section and that was the only thing that wanted to slow the acceleration in any way shape or form.
Thank god for the front brake set up as it's well and truly up to the task at hand to push half my stomach back out my mouth if I relax my stomach muscles...

200km on the clock and Oil and filter change when I returned this afternoon and all clean and clear with no nasty surprises. I'm looking forward to the dyno run in the next couple of weeks.
I'll do a back to back run with the 2 revised maps I put together . 1 map on my spare ignition with the map for AL's and Adriens Over system / Arias piston set up and the 1 I'm running tweeted for the Akra system. Fuel/air seems pretty well on the money with 162.5 mains and needle in middle clip position.
Carbie Heat tray/chamber I made up seems to be doing as I thought it would and monitoring both water and oil temps were lower than before
I'll pick the better of the 2 ignitions then do an advanced and retarded run to see if it needs any changes.

Looking good.
Did you ever sort the exhaust measurements out as I'm thinking of going 2 into 1 when I have finished decorating!

Originally had it covered in carbon laminate with silver backing behind the trx but when tightening the screws it twisted and tore and just haven't got around to putting a new piece on.

Did you measure the Akro? bend diameters, radius of bends, taper length, diameters of primaries / secondaries?

Thanks
