Streetfighter - Triumph speed triple seat, GSXR front end

Post by PrfctChaos » Tue Dec 30, 2014 11:56 am

Hi guys,

I bought my TRX about a year ago, at the time the front fairing had already been removed and replaced with a aftermarket streetfighter headlight unit. It looked like this :( :

I didnt like the headlight unit too much and I like to do a bit of track riding every now and then and the front brakes and suspension were not working for me. So I replaced the front end with that of a 2008 GSXR 750, with oversized 320 mm brake discs (Ahhh much better). It looked like this :) :

I rode the bike like this for 6 months, absolutely loved it. Then one day I was on-track when the whole block plastic part under the seat fell off, the back wheel demolished it past repair. I took this as a sign that it was time for the long-thought-of-plan, of putting a beautiful Triumph speed triple 2012, seat on the TRX. I really liked the short, thin tail look, so I moved the numberplate to behind the rear wheel (between the exhaust endcans). The under seat panels and little brackets are from lasercut 2 mm aluminium, powdercoated. The TRX now looks like this :D :

I find she looks way aggressive now, love it. And to the limit of my knowledge it should comply with Western Australian road rules [-o< .

There were a few other smallish mods along the way such as TDMR carbs, Cobba ignition, Powdercoated rims etc.

Have a look in the for sale section as well. I have a few bits left over that I'm selling / giving away.

Cheers

That actually looks quite good...a black tank would suit it nicely 8)

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I have the new yamaha decals ready for painting the tank (Current paintjob is not in great shape). Only problem is I change my mind about twice a day regarding the color #-o  . Black, cherry red, dark blue, white, shiny alumium and black???

Guess its best to wait a while for my head to settle.

On e you go black, you won't look back ;)
