FZR 400 Headlights

Post by Steelback » Sat Feb 17, 2007 11:02 pm

Am I right in thinking that you can fit the twin headlights from an fzr 400 onto a TRX? If so how easy are they to fit and what model should I try to get them from? :?

Bolt on fit, only a spur.
You should get the one that looks like the TRX´s....don´t know for sure but i think they´ve made ´em with dual glass also....
just as the FZR600 wich i got, they differ a bit...the 600 has a "standard" low beam and a projector high beam on the other side.
(look in member ride´s section on my pic of front)

You might want to consider your UK MOT rules, in Sweden we can only have ONE light lit in low beam....

I picked one up that has two projector units ...

All I need now is an HID kit and I'm hot to trot!

Heres something to consider. I have the twin projector type headlight fitted (goes straight in with only minor fettling to the plug) and i sold one to Scott (Sherlock) But his is much brighter making mine look yellow in comparison. Scotts bike had an alarm fitted before he bought it and we figure the extra relays must be the cause. Not being electrically savvy i haven't been able to do the same on mine but if your wanting brighter headlights it might be something to look into.

Toptastic Tip...

Post by Greg » Wed Feb 21, 2007 9:45 am

Well, I have been bitten good and proper by the HID bug - I converted my 950 Adv 'S' and was amazed by the difference - it was almost too bright if you could say such a thing! No-one would ride in front of me on our night outings... Just got another kit for the 640 - even cheaper than the first! Bought on Ebay, delivered in 3 days from Japan, a full ISO approved twin H1 conversion - twin ballasts, capsules, all leads etc., to my door for £65.00. Unbelievable how they can do it - but they do !! When the TRX is done, I'll most likely get a kit for that too - if I can figure out where to stow the ballasts...

Greg,
Any chance of listing the eBay seller so we can check the light set out. Cheers.

Thanks. I also checked eBay in the US. There are a few HID kits on there as well. Mainly set up for R1, R6, ZX, GSX-R etc. but I am sure a twin bulb set up for the R6 would do the trick as they use the H4 bulb.
