A least your putting a little thought into the build Neil
and after seeing the effort you put into the Ducati I'm sure this thread will be a good tool to the uninitiated on just how much thought needs to go into modifying your motorcycle.

Re: Any interest in S1000RR rear shock adaptors?
Thanks Brian.
You know when you start radically modifying a bike as is going to happen in this case, it's hard to quantify what any one change will do until it is together.
Because I have swapped the front end, removed the fairing and dash from the frame and added weight the bars, swapped to clipons, lowered the front by at least 20mm that will change the dynamics and I haven't even mentioned the back end.
I'm not sure what the weight changes in the back will be but you can remove the battery weight and pipes from the equation as I'll have a lithium battery and the pipes will finish just behind the pegs rather than on the rear subframe.
So then theres the vfr swingarm and wheel which are no doubt heavier than original.
So, 5mm extra length or 20mm less on the shock....?
Na. There is no reasonable expectation of the way it will handle until it gets ridden again. Most likely it will be ok because the components are newer and of higher spec and performance than original let alone the stuffed shock and bent forks that were on it. They all need tweaks but unless it's evil reincarnated it will be quite rideable. Well hopefully anyhow
