G'day all.
Here's my plan. I have a Aussie registered Trx which has the head light hard wired on.
I am not a huge fan of having the headlight hard wired and realize that other markets have an on/off on the left switch block.
My intent is to replace the switch block with either a foreign market replacement or a similar Yamaha option.
Can any kind sole offer suggestions and/or advice on where said foreign switch blocks might be sourced??

If it is as simple as just plugging in the left-hand switchgear from a uk/euro spec bike in place of your existing one, then I've got one you can have for less than the UK£20 for that UKebay item, although you'll have to cover the postage cost from Up Top to Down Under...

Okay, I'll bite. Why is the hard wiring a problem? For me I'd rather been seen and in my opinion it works. If it's hardwired then I'll never forget to turn the sucker on in the twilight hours especially.

I guess in some ways it's just wanting what everyone else has. Hey I'm human.
On a more practical note, my battery is a little sad (just a little) and the head light on at first crank of the day is just making things worse.
I will replace the battery but I am curious to see whether the head light is indeed an issue.

Yup, cheers mate, the funds have cleared so the switchgear had been posted off to you today, tied to the leg of a large pigeon. Give it about 2-3 days..

ekoja, I'm taking an enlightened zen outlook here.

Goes along the lines of ,"there are levels of un-legal that I'm prepared to accept in my version of this construct"

A less philosophical out-look would be, that headlights are now again ADR switchable, so what the hell.

Any plod that got to the point of being bothered by my switches would have already found my "LOUD pipes save lives" attitude any way!

I got my lights hard wired on as its a Japanese import, instead of the on off switch for the lights I get hazard warning lights (fortunately not used yet, but they work!), At least Derek and Dora Dozy on their Sunday afternoon drive get to be dazzled by me, occasionally gets them to move over as well. Just out of interest anyone else found that cars get out of the way with lights on more than lights off.
