Where to find Spoke wheels for TRX?
Hello
Thinking about to see if possible to mount spoke wheels for the TRX under the winter project. Have looked here for some comparsion but not much. Have read that XS650 are a option. Have a Yamaha XT660X with supermoto wheels and offroad wheels so can mesaure the supermoto wheels. On the XT I have a KTM front fork with a KTM front wheels so there I have to look over. In the back both XT and TRX use 20mm axle. The XT wheels has 160-17 size on the tire so that should be ok. One thing I,am worried about is the cush drive on the XT660, will it manage to hold the power from the TRX?
Both XT and TRX has 17mm axle in the front and 20mm axle in the back that is a good start but I known there is much more.

Measure your hub width and rim centres to hub centres to and that will give you an idea on sprocket alignment and disc alignment.
Don't stress over the Cush drive rubbers.
Even with the Dymags I have fitted they only use 6 small tubbers that are 32mm X 11mm thick with a 15.7mm hole in the middle and I manage about 5,000km before I replace them.
But I don't pay $150 from Dymag, I got a mould made of the rubber and costs me $30 for a full set.
So if your worried about rubber life, this is the way to get around it.

Hello
Thanks for the reply, not the rubber I,am worried about it is the cush drive itself if it will brake. The XT has around 50ps and the trx has around 84ps.
Will it handle the power or will it fall apart. Saw one trx who had wheels from a Aprilia SXV550 but they don,t use cush drive.

It's not a horsepower issue you need to look at, it's the torque figures that will give you the peace of mind your after.
I wouldn't stress too much as I'm sure there is a good safety net built in.

Its also how you ride, I do big(ish) miles in a straight(ish) line at a constant(ish) speed so the load on the cush blocks will be drastically different from someone regularly doing traffic light grand prix's.

Good point Neil and being a chook chaser they do a lot of hard acceleration hence the beefed up drive.

There`s no issues associated with cush drive rubber wear that would concern me, they`re cheap enough to replace periodically anyway. I have a set of BMW F650 single hubs sitting waiting for CASH and motivation to do something similar with my TRX.
