I've got a cafe style TRX with a set of the reverse megaphone end cans. While the cans look good on the bike I don't like the sound they make. They're loud for sure(!) but they don't have that deep, booming TRX sound that I love (and want!) like you get with a set of Staintunes, Omrae's etc.
Being a cafe, the subframe is chopped making the bike shorter. All standard pipe lengths now stick out beyond the back of the bike!
Has anybody else got shorter pipes? Do you still get the classic TRX sound? Any other ideas??!

I've cut a bit over 100mm out of my C/F Omrae's, they are slightly louder & slightly deeper than my Leo Vince Alu cans.

Omrae's were damaged when I got them though, so not sure about a direct comparo...

Try A16 Exhaust's he made me a short moto gp style a bit like a mega. I only had one as mines a two into one system. it sounded fantastic but as i couldnt use it on track days without the baffles i had to stick it on my Tiger and put the Quill on the T-Rex. mind you it still sound fantastic with the quill. I think it cost about £160 and that was titanium with a carbon end cone.

I too have the reverse cone mufflers on my Cafe. I dont have the deep sound that you are after but I bought a set of these off ebay:

They fitted into the end reverse cone very neatly and I bolted it back on. They changed the sound a lot and gave it a deeper more cafe style of sound rather than the rasp that you have probably got at the moment. Its been a while since I installed them and now I really do like the sound although its not what you had before. If you are going to buy them just pop a cone off and measure the exit hole to make sure these ebay ones are the same size as yours.

Pipes received quickly. Quality looks very good to me for the price. I had a bit of an issue fitting them. I think one of the link pipes are slightly shorter than the other. Not really a problem as I just tightened it around the header pipe further towards the rear.
I think they look really good on the bike. They seem to be really free flowing too.... and now on to the sound! With the db killers in they are more noisy than standard pipes but still pretty quiet. Certainly quiet enough to pass any kind of inspection and not get the attention of the cops. With the db killers removed... well... they're LOUD! Certainly louder than staintunes or omreas (the only others I've heard) with their db killers removed. Particularly loud on the overrun. The sound they make on the overrun as the engine rpm gets really low is awesome. Very deep indeed! Think you'd need a set of ear plugs to ride it very far without the db killers fitted tho'.
Overall I'd recommend them.

I've got a TRX with a caferacer look too. Me too have megaphone exhausts that are too loud.

I like to create the look of a naked TRX and I have a set of Stain tune exhausts. Is it possible to cut a bit of the headers so the exhausts doesn't come past the seat? I understand that I have to create a bracket to fix the exhausts and that's not a problem. Just a bit scared to cut up the headers. Any advice?

Repack the megaphone or place a baffle into it.

keep longer pipes for better sound
put the standard bodywork for better looks
