What have I done wrong? Have removed top parts of fork and have not touched damper rod or bolt now I cannot get the top parts back as they do not drop down far enough and rest on the damper rod. Help please Thanks. Kenbev.

Provided there's no pressure on the fork bottoms which might be shortening them, then it's generally a matter of applying sufficient force to allow the threads to engage. Done it a few times without any issues.

Tealman,The fork itself is stuck in the leg. Measured it against the complete one and is a good six inches shorter so something is holding it as I cannot get it to pull back up. Thanks for your reply. Kenbev. #-o #-o
