Anyone know how the switch is attached?All I can see are two very strange looking bolts at the bottom. Thanks. Kenbev.

They are shear head security bolts, only go one way.
You'll need to drill the head off the bolts, take the switch assembly off, then remove the remaining studs.
Drill a small pilot hole first, then use a 6.5mm drill to take the head off.
You can then put it back together with normal bolts. I've used allen cap heads.

An alternative, if you are a good enough welder (ie very good!) or have access to a mate who is, is to weld a normal bolt to the head of the security bolt and then simply undo the resulting combination.
A good TIG operator can have this done in a few seconds.

The name is Vivid Red Cocktail, but that means nothing to a paint shop.
Ask around for a good auto paint supplier and they should be able to colour match to some existing bodywork.
I've used the rear of the front mudgaurd as a reference as it's a well protected piece of paintwork.
Got a rattle can made up from a shop in Melbourne and the results were excellent.

It all depends on the model...there were three different reds used during the TRX model run. The paint code for your particular bike "may" be found (unless removed or painted over) on the frame tubes under the pillion seat, from 10/95 onward bikes..

If it's a JDM 1996 it's Heat Red (HTR), code 00ey, if it's an Ozzy 1996 bike it's Vivid Red Cocktail 1 (VRC1), code 0121

Once again thanks fellows. Seems like you blokes have heaps of information related to the TRX. I had one years ago and always regretted selling it so have got another in pretty rough shape and am going to do a nut and bolt restoration. Thanks. Kenbev.
