TRXIT from the UK

Post by cobbadiggabuddyblooo » Mon Nov 25, 2019 2:27 am

Any word from above on the offer to relocate to server here in Oz???
Or should we do a Boris and put it to the vote of the people???

Bit irresponsible of those in command to not even answer msg’s or try to do something for the good of the trx fraternity.
I will tho congratulate Dicky for tirelessly trying to do what he can to keep the boat afloat...
We’ll done mate in true Australian spirit in looking after the troops in the trenches..

I’m grateful for what the administration has done so far since taking over from Max but the last few yrs have been sadly lacking...
If your heart is no longer in it, then why not let things progress and evolve to flower once again.
You’ll still have the notch in the bedpost to remind you of the work and effort you did to keep the forum alive.
We all have our challenges in life and life has its priorities but the offer is there .. Humility is a wonderful trait...

Calm down. I have heard from Jak and will be taking over full admin soon.
If we need to find a new hosting service then I'll put that to a vote (with me a the only voter, a la Drumpf)
Once I become King, sorry, I mean admin, I'll sort out who is first against the wall, oh, sorry, in line to help out should I lose my marbles.
Let me fix what's broken first, then well work on what to do to keep things running smoothly.

Cool, it originally was an Australian run forum with Alistair from Sydney and then (can't remember his name from Toowoomba. Then Max picked it up in Japan .Jak in the UK then took the helm and now back to OZ. =D>

Don't get too excited.
I did hear back from Jak, but that was just a preliminary and I haven't heard anything since.
I still have no access to the server or hosting and so I can't fix anything yet.
Patience is a virtue.

Rome wasn’t built in a day Dicky....
Thanks again for all the effort you’ve made mate.
I’m sure there will be a few willing to put up their hand in helping out if things flower from here.

Unfortunately, no.
Jak did reply to my email and was happy for me to take over, but said that she was very busy with family stuff and might take a while to get back with all the info I need.
That was some weeks ago now, and I do keep sending gentle reminders.
I don't want to get pushy, all I can do is wait, unless someone else has better contact with her than I do.

Thanks again Dicky, just not quite time to flower yet but I’m sure after the Xmas break things will start to fall into place. We just have to be a little more patient but 2020 will be the year of the TRX850 Enthusiasts forum.

I didn't do it.
Nobody saw me do it.
You can't prove anything!

So, it seems that image uploading is working again.
I still haven't heard back from Jak, but she did mention that someone was supposed to have been looking into the server problems.
Maybe things will get better without my attempts to fix them with race tape, zip ties and amphetamines.

So it is kind of a millenium bug, but the other way around?

After my initial email with Jak and her reply, I have had no further contact.
That was in early November 2019.
If we can't get the server fixed then this place will just get worse.
In the worst case the domain name will expire on 18/08/2020 and this place will cease to exist.
I have been told that patience is a virtue.

I spoke too soon. Jak replied last night.
The domain hosting is on auto renew so it won't expire.
Still working on getting access to the serve so that we can start fixing things.

this place is like a sailing ship full of passengers, but all the crew have been murdered

drifting along, waiting to eventually sink when something fails and lets water in
