Mikuni TDMR, got them :)

Post by Rane850 » Fri Jun 08, 2018 8:43 am

Hi, I found myself a used TDMR 40 kit. It is a fully kit from Topham Germany. But I noticed that there is not spring and lever for accelerator pump in place? Previous owener has not removed it and he said that there was no hesitation and his TRX pulled like hell until it lost con rod bearing.
Anybody noticed this in other carbs, has it something to do with TUV- regulations ??

I cannot attach pic.

Anybody know what cables Topham has used, originals are too long.

First time i cut my originals and put new stopscrews on them....second time i bought cables on here from a member but they where for high bars so also to long....now i have high bars so perfect :-) (not that it answered your Q though, but you can cut the standards to length)

Partnr. from topham is TMP40/Y01 and cost 72,27 Euro (4 years ago). Overall length of outside cable incl. adjusting screws is 78cm.

I took the KRS-001 kit from topham as these are about 90 cm long, and I have a spare set.
So, if you prefer longer cables I might be able to help you.

Universal throttle cable sets are cheap as chips. I used that and cut to length to suit the TDMR's. Fit-up, cut, solder, DONE.

Thank you to all of you for tips. Now they are on place and I dont wonder why earlier owner broke his motor :)
What a nice pull in all rpm's. Only things are that no more need to go to city center as just small twist of wrist kicks so hard and during engine braking exhausts "talk" quite a lot. (should try to adjust idle mixture).

TDMR’s run the TPS on the RHS which means your tps map % will run back to front from 100% throttle to 0* ( reading voltage from 5v to 0v ).
You need to cut the 2 wires to the tps put in 2 covered bullet connectors so you can reverse the wiring.
If you ever go back to std carbies or fcr’s just unplug and swap them back.

I forgot about that! But no need to cut wires, you can swap the wiring in the connector to the TPS.
It's a little fiddling though.

Yes I did that mod. Topham has instructions in their web page.
