Use the search engine as I'm sure I placed something up a few years ago compiling info gathered on the forum on engine/frame numbers and coding to ascertain the date of manufacture and origin of sale. Australia, Japan, etc.

I've had mine since 2002
Bought it with 16,000kms on it, now has 136,000kms and still going strong
Always change oil every 6,000kms Motul 5100 10W50 semi-synthetic, though does tend to start using oil after the 3,000km mark - never used to but I put this down to the age of the motor
Get rid of the cheesy Yamaha discs and put on either Metal Gear, Braking or the cheap chinese made ones you can get from S3 Performance in Melbourne
Braided lines
Still on original clutch, pistons and rings
New camchain put in at around 106,000kms
Valves checked every 30,000kms, still ok
Used Megacycle cans - courtesy Davamb (what.............?)

Still to put on:
R6 '03 front master cylinder [ I sold the last one to Bill (aka Wally) to suit the R6 BlueSpots]
Keihin FCR41mm flatslide carbs

What really needs to be fixed:
The rear shock

They're a great bike, and really there's not another bike I'd wanna buy unless they bring out a new TRX
The fact I've still got mine after 13 years says a lot

Thanks, Rod. I couldn't see it because a) the camera flash, and b), I'm blind as Mr. Magoo without my specs.. :-)

I'm safe. It is a 1999 model. Cheers.
