Starter relay

Post by frankyboy » Thu Sep 15, 2016 2:41 pm

I took the battery out the bike the other day, it was out for 2 days, and when I put it back in....it won't start or turn over. I think it's the starter relay as it's making a fast clicking and buzzing sound, just wanted a second opinion as when I push the start button....the Rev dial shoots up.
Also....if it needs replaced has anyone tried the ones on ebay for about £12, thanks in advance

I had a Chinese starter relay on an Aprilia which worked like fine and never gave me any issues, the biggest problem with cheap bits is the total lack of quality, one might be good, the next a total dud.

Seems odd that it would fail just because the battery was out of the bike, I'd check you are getting a good connection everywhere, a dodgy Earth connection can cause all kinds of gremlins to raise their heads.

Cheers Neil,
Just finished double checking everything and found the small black wire that goes into the main black wire on the battery had a small break in It, will know better to double check everything next time, thanks Neil.
